WebMar 14, 2014 · I called Microsoft to get assistance with a similar issue. We had a user who was married and wanted to change their last name. I first used your method of removing the account completely from office 365 but then realized once we migrated our exchange mailboxes we would run into bigger problems if always needed to remove the account.
