The problem I believe is my shift points. With the HO cam, 52/5500 RPM was best but with the B303, 5800 is best. If I go lower or higher with the B303, I slow down. The B303 has some 1.7 Cobra roller rockers mated to it.

Then watching the distributor rotor while you turn the crank in the other direction. If the crank moves more than a few degrees (say 3-5*) then the chain is way loose and possible slipped a tooth.
